Project Sugita Genpaku (プロジェクト杉田玄白) is a project that aims to translate free content texts into Japanese. Translated texts are distributed under an open source-like licence. The project was founded by Hiro Yamagata in 1999, The name is after Sugita Genpaku, a famous Japanese scholar in Edo era who translated a Dutch book about anatomy in the first time in Japan, known as ''Kaitai-shinsho''.
